This page is the story behind the developer distribution tool I wish I had when I was trying to figure out indie developer marketing, Product Hunt launch planning, and Reddit marketing for developers on my own.
The problem was never the product.
My name is Liam. I've been building apps as a solo developer for years. And for years, every single one of them went nowhere.
Not because they weren't good enough. Not because the idea was wrong. But because I couldn't market them. I didn't have the ability, I didn't know anyone who could help, and I had nobody to turn to. I was completely alone with a product and no way to get it in front of people.
That feeling — watching something you spent months building disappear into silence — is one of the most demoralising things I've experienced as a developer.
I tried everything. Posting on Reddit and getting ignored or banned. Tweeting into the void. Submitting to Product Hunt and getting three upvotes. The problem wasn't effort. The problem was I didn't know what I was doing, and there was nothing out there that actually helped developers like me.
So I built Vloxo. Not as a side project. Not as an experiment. As the tool I desperately needed and couldn't find.
